In adolescents and adults, extraction of a tooth or teeth is sometimes necessary if the tooth cannot be restored due to severe decay, periodontal disease or infection. In children with primary teeth (baby teeth) it is also sometimes necessary to extract a tooth for the same reasons or due to crowding, delayed natural shedding or exfoliation of the tooth, or simply if a loose tooth is causing a child discomfort.
If you or your child require a tooth extraction, we will discuss the procedure with you or refer you to a specilist if needed.
