Shelly Wilson, Office Manager
Shelly has been in the dental field for over 13 years. Initially she
started as a dental assistant for Dr. Desai over 12 years ago, with her
radiology license. Over the course of her journey with Dr. Desai, Shelly
has filled in as her receptionist and has continued on to be the office
manager with great customer skills in the rapidly growing office. She
has continued her education, completing numerous courses for the office
in such topics as infection control, Invisalign™, ZOOM™, Six Month
Smiles™, Fastbraces™, implantology, and CEREC™ crowns. She is very
devoted to her work and very technically savvy, with the ability to
problem-solve and care for the needs of both the patients and staff.
Shelly takes great pride in completing every task she is given. She
shows enthusiasm as well as dedication to improve the office in every
aspect.
Shelly says, "Being able to educate patients so they
understand and feel comfortable with their treatment plan is the most
rewarding part of my job. The friendships the office has brought me are
wonderful, and my co-workers are more than friends – they are family."
Shelly resides in Galloway with her wonderful husband Mike and their three awesome children.
Maria Novak, Dental Assistant
Maria is a 2009 graduate of Central Crossing High School and Southwest
Career Academy, where she completed a two-year dental assisting program.
She has her radiography license and has been a chair-side assistant for
over two years. She is a very positive and encouraging person. She
loves to answer questions and explain to the fullest of her knowledge,
to help ease a patient's nervousness.
Maria loves performing
new projects at every opportunity and is proud to be a part of our
family. Her personal dental mission is to continue to educate her
patients and give them the best dental treatment available! She loves
her job and takes great pride in being a dental assistant. She feels
blessed to work at such a progressive and great office.
Saneeka Patel, Dental Hygienist
Saneeka graduated from Dental Hygiene school in 2012 from Owens Community College in Toledo, OH. She is certified in Local Anesthetic and Nitrous Oxide Administration and Monitoring. She joined the practice early 2016, where she has been a team player. She strives to make every patient’s dental experience enjoyable and comfortable. Her focus is on patient education, where she believes prevention and good oral home care is the key to a healthy mouth and body.
Outside of dental hygiene she enjoys staying active and exploring Columbus and all it has to offer. She has recently rescued an adorable kitten named Kendyle.
Demi Vanhouten, Dental Assistant
Demi is a 2015 graduate of the South Western Career Academy where she strived for excellence in the dental program. She graduated with her state certification as a Dental Assistant as well as Radiology and CPR certification. Demi is a great asset to our practice with her huge loving heart as she treats her patients as they are her own family.

Kerri Walter, Front Desk
Kerri started her dental career as a certified dental assistant in New Jersey sixteen years ago and has since continued her education by training in dental insurance and treatment coordinator. In 2013, Kerri relocated to Ohio and currently works with Dr. Desai at her state of the art office in Hilliard as a front desk coordinator. Kerri has a dynamic personality and connects well with patients; she enjoys working in the lab and helping to educate patients on the importance of their dental care.
In May of 2015, Kerri welcomed her daughter into the world and has since been a devoted and active mother to her adorable and energetic toddler.
Heidi Maurer, Dental Hygienist
Heidi is an Ohio native. She graduated Cum Laude from Columbus State Community College in 2010. When she is not working, Heidi is an active member of her church and enjoys spending time with her husband of 18 years and their three children. She loves traveling around the U.S. with family for sporting events and leisure.
