Meet The Doctor

“For as long as I can remember, I have had the classic symptoms of sleep apnea – drowsy driving and sleepiness after dinner. Twelve years ago my wife convinced me to get a sleep test, since she said I stopped breathing when sleeping. YES, I had obstructive sleep apnea. I have successfully used a CPAP for twelve years; so I understand the frustrations of the mask, noise, tubing, air leaks and TSA problems at the airport. I also use a hard night guard to treat my TMJ; so I am familiar with their drawbacks.”

Dr. Goff has decided to devote the rest of his dental career to helping people manage their sleep apnea. As a dentist sleep apnea RI, he continues to travel widely and spend hundreds of hours in seminars, study club and continuing education courses and Association meetings in order to learn about the field of sleep medicine and oral appliance therapy and stay current with this rapidly evolving field. He can help diagnose and treat both snoring and sleep apnea. Whether it is just snoring that is disturbing your bed partner or the more dangerous obstructive sleep apnea that puts you at higher risk for heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and stroke, Dr. Goff can treat those conditions with a customized oral appliance. His office uses the latest technology to monitor your progress through oral appliance therapy using the Watermark Medical ARES home sleep testing unit.

Dr. Goff follows the recommended guidelines for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea with oral appliances formulated by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He only prescribes FDA approved appliances to treat snoring or sleep apnea. Presently he works with several types of adjustable appliances; the choice is dependent on many patient factors. Dr. Goff has always been devoted to the wellbeing of his patients and communication with the referring members of the medical profession, facilitating treating obstructive sleep apnea and snoring which is saving lives and marriages every day.

The Office
Our office offers initial consultations or second opinions to help patients find alternatives to CPAP. Then Dr. Goff focuses on discovering the most appropriate treatment option that you are comfortable with that corrects your condition. He will work with you to find that correct solution for you.

Technology
Our office uses the latest technology to monitor your progress through oral appliance therapy, such as Airway Metrics and Watermark Medical ARES home sleep testing to monitor the oral appliance effectiveness. We have recently added Eccovision’s Acoustic Rhinometer and Pharyngometer to evaluate the size of your airway and to estimate the effect that an oral appliance may have on increasing its patency and improving your breathing while sleeping, plus helping to set the best starting position for your oral appliance.
