Missing Teeth

We’re glad to be able to provide implants for patients with missing teeth. They differ from traditional dentures in that they are prosthetic teeth attached to permanent titanium replacement roots. In the implant procedure, the gum in the affected area is properly prepared, and a special titanium screw is implanted directly into the underlying bone.

Procedures

Over time, the screw will integrate with the bone and will serve as the root to which a prosthetic tooth, or denture, is attached. These prosthetic teeth will look and function exactly like natural teeth, and you take care of them in the same way. Sometimes when we’re preparing for a implant procedure, we find that there has been significant bone loss in the area due to any number of factors. If this is the case, then we can perform a procedure that involves grafting bone that’s taken from the patient or from another source to the affected area to fill in any defects. Once the grafting takes hold, we can proceed with the rest of the implant procedure. Whether or not you need a graft before your mplant, the end result will be a strong and completely functional replacement tooth for the one that was missing, and a stronger, more comfortable mouth!
