DAVID J. DYER, DDS, MSD
DAVID J. DYER, DDS, MSD

Dr. David J. Dyer was raised in what was once a rural Southlake, Texas. He graduated from Carroll High School and then attended Baylor University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics with a pre-dental focus. It was at Baylor that he met and dated his now wife, Kate Dyer. They were married shortly after graduation and moved to San Antonio.

After graduating from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA) Dental School, Dr. David Dyer was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy. He served as a general dentist for three years to the U.S. Marines stationed in 29 Palms, CA. He then was accepted into the orthodontic residency program at the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. Upon graduation from orthodontic residency, Dr. Dyer was stationed as an orthodontist serving Sailors, Marines, and their families in Okinawa, Japan. Following that adventure-filled overseas tour, he was assigned as the head orthodontic faculty at the Naval Medical Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. Dr. Dyer finished his career with the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant Commander after 13 years of active duty service. The Dyers were greatly blessed by their time in the military. They gained valuable life experiences and met an uncountable number of patriots full of honor, courage, and commitment.

In the summer of 2017, Dr. David Dyer returned home to Texas, and bought his father’s practice, Argyle Orthodontics. The father and son orthodontists share much in common, including their orthodontic practice philosophy and passion to help their patients. A high standard of care, professionalism, and team work are all essential to the heartbeat of this practice.

As a board-certified orthodontist with the American Board of Orthodontics, Dr. Dyer has much experience in the treatment of complex surgical orthodontic cases for adults, as well as early interceptive orthodontic therapy, and traditional comprehensive orthodontic treatment of teenagers.

Dr. David Dyer has home town values, and enjoys living in and serving his community. The Dyer family is excited to be involved in their local church, youth sports leagues, and many other community activities in the area. He is excited for the opportunity to help create and share Texas-sized smiles.
